The 5th edition of the European Biosensor Symposium will be held this 2025 (26-29 October) in the city of TARRAGONA, in the Tarragona Exhibition and Congress Center.
This historical and beautiful city in the Mediterranean coast was choosen to host the international conference of the European Biosensor Symposium (EBS) in the present year upon the appointment of Prof. M.-Pilar Marco, Head of the Nb4D group, as chair of the event. She is not alone at all in the organization of the EBS2025; a local organizing committee consisting of members of her group and other renowned researchers in the National scenario of biosensors has been designated. Everything set to secure a successful scientific gathering to exchange ideas, get visibility and foster new collaborations among academic partners, actors from the private sector and other interested parties.
The EBS series started in Potsdam in 2017, originating from the very successful German Biosensor Symposia (DBS) regularly celebrated between 1999 and 2015. The EBS takes place every two years, with a strong focus on scientists in the earliest steps of their careers but also on consolidated researchers, with the potential to bring innovative ideas and revolutionary conceps to the sector of biosensing technologies. After one single experience out from Germany frontiers (Florence, Italy, in 2019), the organizing committee behind, directed by Prof. Dr. Fred Lisdat, proposed to have the conference to Spain in this edition, the one envisioned to bring the EBS to the next level.
The whole Nb4D group is really committed to the success of this event, open to everyone having an interest on how biosensors and biosensing technologies advance and how they can give solutions to the challenges of the current society.
