SUMMARY

The diagnosis of infectious diseases is, too many times, a limiting factor when it comes to identify and treat the microorganisms causing them. ND4ID project, as MSCA Innovative Training Network, had the objetive to train the next generation of researchers in the field of in vitro diagnostics (IVD) focused on these kind of pathologies.

Topics covered in this field ranged from respiratory tract infections to urinary tract infections, considering as well antimicrobial resistance (AMR), bearing always in mind the purpose to connect the technological innovation with the clinical need. In this regard, counting on the participation of renowned pharmaceutical companies and clinical partners was crucial.

Lateral flow, molecular, sequencing-based and phenotypic bioassays and their integration into microfluidics or other technological platforms exploring diverse set-ups and materials. ND4ID delivered several IVD innovations and open new pathways in this field for coming research.
