Carla Ferrero, J.-Pablo Salvador and Francesc Bejarano, PhD student, Senior Researcher and Project Manager respectively of our group, participated in EBTOn 2024 (23rd-24th September, Valencia), the Hackathon co-organized by CSIC and the firm ¿Por Qué No? to promote the knowledge transfer for projects with sufficient potential to reach the market through the creation of spin-offs or start-ups.
The event was a 2-day intensive training for the 19 attending groups to understand how to prepare a pitch to defend your business idea, intercalating inspiring talks from successful entrepreneurs. Each group had the possibility to count on a mentor to help in the elaboration of the own pitch to be presented in front of a committee at the end of the second day.
The group feels very proud to see how its pitch, brilliantly presented by Carla Ferrero, was selected as one of the best 8 delivered, to take part in the final competition that will be held in Valencia as well on October 10th. On that date, 8 improved and powerful pitches will be presented again to get one of the 4 final awards of 20.000 € to drive the approach of our technology to back the constitution of a spin-off.
Independently of the final prize consecution, the team is really satisfied with the acquired learnings and the full experience and deeply acknowledges the efforts of ¿Por Qué No?, CSIC and the assigned mentor, Alejandro Cancelas.
